I recently stopped in a thrift store that helps support abandoned dogs and cats
I've purchased a few items here before but its always a bit of hit and miss
This time was a hit
Someone put some amazing time into making this a very special tablecloth. Look at this center section. Not only does it have this lovely embroidery but also these crocheted inserts
*updated to say that several readers think this is tatting and not crochet....thank you ladies!

The tablecloth is more of an ecru color
Amazing work!
The backside!
I am going to list this in my Etsy shop and hope someone will give it a good home!
*updated: one of my wonderful blogging friends has offered this lovely tablecloth a good home!*
I'm joining these parties today

What a find -- love it, especially the lacework. I used to embroider tablecloths in my youth! Joni
Hi Linda,
You really found a beautiful tablecloth. Someone put a lot of work into that. I'm sure it will end up in a great home!

All I can think about is how much hand work and love someone put in making that - beautiful. sandie

Gorgeous, Linda. Just absolutely gorgeous. Don't think I'd be able to sell it. Great job! Susan

Oh LInda! I love that tablecloth! I LOVE cross-stich of anything...it always reminds me of my maternal grandma!
I am sure you will do up a tablescape for us first, please? It is really a beautiful cloth with a lot of work. xo
Lucky you for stopping in there at just the right time. I'm sure this wouldn't have lasted long. So pretty!
That is stunning. A real piece of fine work. It'll go quick.
Pretty cloth and great find. Nice that this shop supports abandoned dogs and cats. Makes the shopping all the more fun. ~ sarah
That is a lot of time in handiwork for sure. I hope something this pretty will go home with someone who can appreciate it's beauty. ~Ames
I always admire handiwork like that. So intricate and full of care.
Wonderful that the shop is for abandoned animals. Wonderful find. Wonder how it wound up at a thrift store.

That's a beautiful tablecloth! It's been years since I've done cross stitch and I can only say the back of my work never looked that neat:@)
Amazing find, simply amazing!
That is a beautiful find! No doubt that someone put alot of work into it.
How pretty! It would make a really pretty crib quilt, too.
Gorgeous piece of art...it almost looks like tatting instead of crochet. What size is it?
I am always amazed at what others just toss away...what a beauty! Happy VTT
What a beautiful table cloth, what a fabulous find, Linda! I'm so impressed by the crocheted inserts, truly awesome!
That tablecloth is awesome. I love all the details in it.
What a gorgeous tablecloth! You scored big! And how neat, a store to support animals...I like that.
Love!
That's a lot of stitch'in. The maker would be happy to see it have a home.

How lovely, thanks so much for sharing that treasure with us!
Happy VTT!
That beautiful tablecloth must have taken days and days to complete. I'm sure it will sell quickly!
Hi Linda! What a find! It;s beautiful...it'll go fast.
What a beautiful tablecloth. I can only imagine how long it took that lady to make it in the first place.
Absolutely beautiful tablecloth! If I'm not mistaken the embroidery is actually tatting which is much more difficult and a lost art. You have a treasure for sure. Blessings, Debbie
Well, hidy doo, miz Linda Lou....
Now, this is one beautiful tablecloth...bring it to my house and we will eat a bowl of beans together. :))
Lovely hand work. Made in China using cross stitch embroidery, which was learned from Christian missionaries at the turn of the 19th century. I'll weigh in and say I don't think it is tatting. It looks like a crochet stitch that approximates tatting. But then, what do I know?
What a work of art!
Wow! What an amazing idea, i like this blog and a tablecloth. I am crazy about this. It so beautiful designing and embroidery. I love it.
